Arc Raiders Frozen Trail 2.0 Skill Tree: What Changed and How to Plan It
The Arc Raiders skill tree was rebuilt for Frozen Trail 2.0. See the new choice nodes, capstones, removed skills and creator builds, then plan yours in the updated builder.

The skill tree builder now runs Frozen Trail 2.0
Frozen Trail 2.0 rebuilt the Arc Raiders skill tree, and ArcSkillTree has been updated to match. When you open the skill tree planner you now get the new tree by default: the same three branches, Conditioning, Mobility and Survival, but a different layout, new decision points and a different set of skills.
This page summarises what changed, how the new tree is unlocked, and where to find builds made for it. If you only want to start planning, open the Frozen Trail 2.0 skill tree and click a skill to add a point. Right-click removes one.
What changed in the Frozen Trail skill tree
The new tree still has 48 skills, 16 in each branch, but the list is very different from the Launch tree:
| Change | Count | Examples |
|---|---|---|
| New skills | 16 | Sprinting on Fumes, Wall Run, In the Flow, Mule's Gallop, Bull Rush, Quick Roll, Field Repair |
| Removed skills | 13 | Calming Stroll, Carry the Momentum, Heroic Leap, Revitalizing Squat, Flyswatter |
| Moved to another branch | 11 | Security Breach and Broad Shoulders to Conditioning, Fight or Flight to Mobility, Turtle Crawl to Survival |
The full removed list is Blast-Born, Survivor's Stamina, Unburdened Roll, Effortless Swing, Sky-Clearing Swing, Flyswatter, Carry the Momentum, Calming Stroll, Heroic Leap, Suffer in Silence, Revitalizing Squat, Good as New and One Raider's Scraps. If an older guide recommends one of them, that advice is for the Launch tree.
A few skills also changed role without changing branch. Back On Your Feet, Minesweeper and Vaults on Vaults on Vaults used to sit at the end of their branches; they are now options on the new 10-point choice nodes.
How the new skill tree unlocks
Each branch now follows the same shape: a root skill, two short early paths, a choice node, three middle columns and two capstone slots.
- Choice node at 10 points. Once you have 10 points in the root and the four early skills, and one of the two skills that lead into the choice has a point, you pick one of two skills. The choice is exclusive.
- Middle columns in order. The three middle columns unlock from the bottom up, and only after the branch choice is taken.
- Capstones at 30 and 40. Each branch ends in two diamond slots that share a pool of three capstones. The first slot needs 30 other points in the branch, the second needs 40 and the first slot filled. You cannot take the same capstone twice.
That makes the first capstone in a branch cost 31 points, and both capstones together 41. With 76 points from levelling, the common pattern is two capstones in two different branches; with all 15 Expedition points (91 total) you can add a second capstone in one branch.
| Branch | Choice node (pick one) | Capstone pool (pick up to two) |
|---|---|---|
| Conditioning | Mule's Gallop or Back On Your Feet | Security Breach, Weapon Bash, Bull Rush |
| Mobility | Vault Spring or Vaults on Vaults on Vaults | Sprinting on Fumes, Wall Run, In the Flow |
| Survival | Quick Roll or Minesweeper | Road Warrior, Nomadic Crafting, Field Repair |
A fully maxed branch costs 42 points in Conditioning, 50 in Mobility and 46 in Survival, so even a 91-point account cannot max everything. Every Frozen Trail build is a set of trade-offs.
What the updated planner does
The builder follows one rule: a build is valid only if it can be clicked in the game in some order. Adding, removing, picking a choice or a capstone, and importing a link are all checked against that rule, and anything the game would not allow is refused instead of silently changing other skills.
- Choice and capstone slots open a picker with the available skills and show why a slot is still locked.
- Expedition points are set with the stepper next to the available-points counter, from 76 up to 91.
- Share links keep the whole allocation and the point cap. New links are tagged as Frozen Trail 2.0 builds.
- Layout mirrors the in-game tree, with branch colours, filled nodes for maxed skills and a rank badge under each skill you invest in.
Old share links have not been rewritten. A Launch link still opens the Launch (pre-2.0) tree, so builds you saved before the update can be reviewed, but they cannot be imported into the new tree.
Frozen Trail 2.0 builds from creators
The fastest way to learn the new tree is to start from a build someone has already tested. We added a set of Frozen Trail 2.0 creator builds, each transcribed point by point from the creator's published build and checked against the new rules, so every one loads and can be built in game:
- Raider Logic General - 31/31/14 with Security Breach and Sprinting on Fumes, plus the full downed kit.
- Raider Logic PvE - a loot tree with Mule's Gallop, maxed Broad Shoulders and breach utility in Survival.
- Raider Logic PvP - 34 Mobility with maxed Slip and Slide, Back On Your Feet and maxed Turtle Crawl.
- Millzaa PvE Loot Mule - Security Breach with Mule's Gallop, Speedy Mule and maxed Looter's Luck.
- Millzaa PvP Solo - Sprinting on Fumes with Vault Spring and Mule's Gallop.
- Millzaa PvPvE - the popular 31/31/14 two-capstone split.
Raider Logic also published 91-point versions: General 91, PvE 91 and PvP 91. Each build page links the original video and explains what the allocation buys and gives up. The full list is on the creator builds page, with Launch builds kept below for reference.
How to move from a Launch build to Frozen Trail
Because every point was refunded, there is nothing to convert. Treat your old build as a description of what you liked, then rebuild that idea in the new tree:
- 1Write down the job your old build did: loot runs, solo PvP, squad support or a mix.
- 2Pick the capstones that serve that job. For most players that means one Mobility capstone and one in Conditioning or Survival.
- 3Choose each branch's 10-point option on purpose; the choice node is easy to overlook and hard to replace later.
- 4Spend the remaining points on the middle columns that support those capstones, then check the total in the planner.
- 5Share the link with your squad and reopen it once to make sure it loads the tree you expect.
If you want a second opinion before spending points, compare your tree with one of the Frozen Trail 2.0 creator builds that has a similar split, or read how to verify a shared build.
FAQ
Is the ArcSkillTree planner updated for Frozen Trail 2.0?
Yes. The planner opens the Frozen Trail 2.0 skill tree by default, with all 48 skills, the 10-point choice nodes, the 30/40-point capstone slots and an Expedition stepper up to 91 points. Old share links still open the Launch tree.
How many points does a capstone cost in the new skill tree?
The first capstone slot needs 30 other points in its branch, so it costs 31 branch points including the capstone. The second slot needs 40 other points and the first slot filled, so two capstones in one branch cost 41.
Do my old Launch builds still work?
No. Frozen Trail 2.0 refunded every skill point and removed 13 skills, so Launch builds do not carry over. Old links still open in the Launch tree for reference; use the Frozen Trail 2.0 creator builds as a starting point instead.
What is the most common Frozen Trail 2.0 build split?
Many creator builds use 31 Conditioning / 31 Mobility / 14 Survival at 76 points, which buys two capstones: Security Breach and Sprinting on Fumes. Check the choices, not just the totals, because builds with the same split pick different choice nodes.
